Powell's Books takes up an entire city block, from West Burnside that you see here on the south side of the store, north to NW Couch, east to NW 10th, and west to NW 11th. After I'd been to their Friends & Family Night on Tuesday, February 26, I walked south to Kenny & Zuke's Delicatessen for supper before heading back to the bus stop in front of Powell's. I took these photos and decided to try to make a panorama out of them. I like how it turned out. What about you?
We miss all of our family and friends in Jackson, Miss., but Portland's home now.

We won! We won! We won! And I hooped and hollered, along with thousands of other fans!

Miami led by 10 with just over 6 minutes to go, but we came from behind and defeated them at the buzzer. What an ever-lovin' blast! I love this team, totally. I cannot talk right now due to all of that hollering! I'll be OK in the morning.
Thanks for letting me indulge in my zealous fan-dom here!
Here's the whole photo, before I cropped and captioned it. I took it Tuesday night when I walked across the Hawthorne Bridge. I took some others I plan to share with you, too.

Portland, seen from the Aerial Tram
Looking north from the Aerial Tram, the Ross Island Bridge running east and west across the bottom of the photo, the Marquam Bridge curving north and south.
The Marquam Bridge--the upper deck is I-5 northbound, the lower deck is I-5 southbound.
The Ross Island Bridge goes over the Willamette River between southeast and southwest Portland. At the right edge of the photo, about a third of the way up from the bottom, you can see the Aerial Tram. I'm not sure if it is coming up or going down.
Looking pretty much northeast, you can see lots of southeast, northeast and north Portland. The bridges are, from right to left, Marquam, Hawthorne, Morrison, and Burnside.

Looking across the river from the sunrise, Jan. 21, 2009
After taking Monday's posted photo, I turned back to the west and took several photos. In today's you can see a car approaching from the west. Looking past the back of the car, you can see a portion of the Hawthorne Bridge as well as both tiers of the Marquam Brige, the top is I-5 northbound, the bottom is I-5 southbound.
I like the reflection of the colorful sunrise on the buildings.
