We miss all of our family and friends in Jackson, Miss., but Portland's home now.

They're back, as seen from the bathroom window.
Fall foliage, blowing in a stiff wind, shot from the bathroom window a few minutes ago. And here's the other part of "they," the matching street level accessory!
Right now the vine maple is ablaze along the Upper Clackamas River east of Estacada, going up toward Ripplebrook Ranger Station. The back roads going high up into the mountains are the best place...I go in our 4-wheel-drive truck with Dear Hubby. If you ever want to take Mama for a ride that's a feast for the eyes to see, that'd be a wonderful way to spend a Saturday. I know your photos here are of Portland, but the 'wilds' up there are gorgeous any time of year. We even spotted a usually-elusive bobcat on the road ahead of us one day!
